Manic Mani's

From runway to “ready to go” there are many ways to incorporate classic nails without having to break the bank. Of course, going to your local nail salon will help with a little inspiration from this years Oscar nominees.

What’s most surprising is that the trends are more simple and relaxed and can easily be done with a few simple steps. One of our favorite nail styles, made popular by Tracy Reese is the
Windowpane Effect.

Although this type of polish won’t be hitting stores until late this month you can achieve this look at home by simply buying a nail art pen by Sally Hansen and creating your own 2 dimensional effect.

Another simple and chic nail look is the Subtle Ombré. Originally created by Gina Edwards for Zac Posen, it seems that this popular fad won’t be going anywhere anytime soon. This gorgeous look will be sure to capture the hearts of most fashionista’s seeking a more dramatic look. As mentioned, you can be quite subtle or you can go over the top with it! Here’s a few different looks from elegant to edgy:
A lovely day time effect (featured left) or a more sultry look for a night out on the LES (featured right).

For some hand candy, pair these looks with our
NADIA SILVER DRUZY RING by Dara Ettinger.
If you’re a bit more playful, you could always use bright colors to put a more youthful spin on things. Our DECO RING by Viento would pair brilliantly with some otherworldly pastel colors.
Speaking of out of this world nail art, (one of our personal favorites) and easily done nail finishes is the Galaxy Nail (video). Watch that tutorial for helpful tips and tricks. I found that using a black or navy blue basecoat works the best. Quick tip: don’t be too quick to put on your favorite top coat. If you don’t let it dry enough, it’ll smear and you won’t get the effect that you want!
